Download
your free software at www.scrapbookflair.com.
Create a folder on your desktop with the scrapbook pages and the
photos that you will Be using to make your album. Just right click
on your desktop screen select folder, name The folder then copy
or drag your images into it. This will make your project easier
to manage.
Open the scrapbook flair software. Select 'Create a new Project'
Then select 'Blank Project'
Select the 8x8' paper size option from the drop down box on the
left side. This program requires that you select a background so
when prompted select the Burgundy background that shows up. You
will then be able to use this background for a dark mat border around
your pages, if you desire, we will go over this later, for now just
open it and ignore it.
Then you will add a photo. On the left menu select 'Add Image' A
box will pop up in the middle of your page click on the add image
text again. You will now see a menu on the left that should show
the contents of you desktop files. Click on the folder where you
saved your images. Select your photo for your first page hit OK
and the photo will now Be on your background.
Double click on the photo this will take you to a window that will
allow you to adjust The color and saturation of the photo. Since
we are using nostalgic papers adjusting the Color on your photos
will enhance the overall look of your page. Select the desaturate
option from the top menu. For my album I adjusted the slider to
about -20. Then select the colorize option. If you add a little
green and red and reduce the blue a bit you will achieve a sepia
look. Hit OK to go back to your page.
Hint: you can also adjust the color of your scrapbook paper here
if you would like a little more or less color in it. Sometimes I
desaturate the color a bit on my papers to allow the photo to be
more of the focal point this depends on the photo.
Now you will open the first saved scrapbook page this time you will
select add embellishment from the left menu. The reason you select
embellishment instead of Image is because these pages are saved
as png files to save the transparent openings.
Move you page and photo around by clicking on the image and moving
your mouse. The window on the right of your working page allows
you to change the layer order of the images. You can reduce the
size of your page now if you would like to have the dark burgundy
background show as a border. Select your paper and resize using
the handles on the corners of the page.
Now you just have to add some text. Select 'Add text' from the left
menu then select your font and color choice and hit OK when you
are done. You can move and adjust the size of the text box .
When
you are done select export and save your file as a jpeg high quality.
You scrapbook page is now ready to send out for printing.
