Scrapbook Maxi Tutorial using the Theorem
Digital Scrapbooking Kit

1. Download the Theorem Collection Kit and save in a desktop folder for easy access. Download the free Taupe Weave Paper and save in the same folder.

2. Open Scrapbook Maxi click on Create New Scrapbook and select Blank Scrapbook. Name and save your file.

3. Run your mouse across the top bar over the icons you will find the icon Add a Photo to Page, click on this. At the top of the window Look in: Desktop and then find the folder with the Taupe Weave Paper in it and hit OK. If the paper comes up smaller than the full page, click on the image, to show the selection handles, then drag a corner to expand the paper to the size of your page. You should now have a page with your background paper on it, deselect by clicking outside the image. Save your file.

4. Click on Add a Photo to Page icon. At the top of the window Look in: Desktop and then find the folder with the Boxwood Stripes Paper in it and hit OK. Now we want to crop the Boxwood Stripe Paper down so that it is like the example and is just a strip on the right of the page. To crop the paper right click on the image, select effect then crop. You can drag the little squares to the appropriate size. Drag the square on the left hand side to the desired width, there are no rulers to measure exactly so just use your judgment. Hit OK; if you are not happy with the size redo this step until you are. Save your file.

5. Open the Riverscene Paper. Crop this paper using the procedure in step 4. This time you will crop it down to a rectangle. Click on the riverscene rectangle image so that you have the selection box around the image. You can rotate the image by moving your mouse over top of one of the corners the arrow will turn into a curve then click and hold while you rotate the paper to the desired location.  You can also click on a selection handle and by moving your mouse can increase or decrease the size.  If you look under Edit you will see Keep aspect ratio, this controls the proportionate size try changing the size with this function on then with it off, to see the difference.

6. Use Add a Photo to Page to but the Boxwood Floral Frame square and a photo on the page. You may have to crop your photo to fit or you can use the selection boxes to adjust the size.

7. Open the Striped tag and the silhouette tag. Adjust the size of the ‘C’ to fit nicely on the tag. Click on Add journal text to the page icon, type tin ‘herished’, adjust the size to fit beside the C. Now you want to group all the tag images together before you rotate this image. To do this it is easier if you zoom in and then select individual items. To use the zoom tool go to the top tool bar and click on View then you can use the zoom in or zoom level. Select one o the items hold the shift key and select the second item while still holding the shift key select the third item, you will see a bounding box around all the items. Now click on Edit in the top tool bar then group. If you want to ungroup these later you can use the ungroup and toggle back and forth. Once the tag is grouped you can rotate it and place it on the photo frame as per the diagram.

8. Now we are going to add a couple of tags; one is Memories of and the other is The Williams Family. We will do the black tag first.  Click the icon Add Paper scrap to page.  Scroll under category on the left hand side and pick construction paper, then find the black colour and select it. Check custom shape under options then click on change shape. Scroll down and find the shape number 0104 this gives you a torn effect on the right side of the paper. Now go to edit and turn off
Keep aspect, this allows you to change the shape and size without keeping the square proportion.  Reduce the black paper to the correct size. Add journalizing, select the font and change the color using the drop down box on the bottom left. Then find the file with the metal brad, position all items together, zoom in and select all the items then group together. Place the tag as per the diagram. Repeat this for the next tag using a lighter colour paper and darker colour for the font.

9. Now you can put on the scroll. Find the scroll in your folder, after you select the image while the properties box is still open you can reduce the opacity by moving the button towards transparency. I reduced the opacity by about 20%.

10. Find the numbers in your folder and place on page.

11. Find the Boxwood oval frame and then a picture that you want to place in there.  Right click on the photo to change the shape find an oval shape in the change shape box.

12. Save your work you’re done.
